we are stopped in green river, utah...an hour from moab. yesterday we camped at brunneau dunes state park outside mountain home, idaho. sunset at six-fifteen and we pulled into our lonely spot about eight. brrrrr!!! cold....dropped to the low 20s. serenaded by a pair of great horned owls all night. in morning we walked the dunes...big one is 400+ feet high..largest dune in north america..left over from a flood 14,000 years ago. drove east and then south into utah..past salt lake city...and out through a narrow pass of nearly 8000 feet elevation....and on down into the desert. meeting nice folks at every stop!! moab tomorrow

Gettin' started
